I am an optical scientist, product strategist, yoga enthusiast, cyclist, and food & wine lover. My professional journey has been somewhat unconventional but always centered around the confluence of science and business. As time permits, I maintain this site as a home for these thoughts and invite connection through comments or LinkedIn.
I have earned a scientific PhD while lobbying in DC and helping the university market patents. I have scaled with a startup from 5 people, a vision, and some technical expertise to over 1,000 people in eight countries, a peak $10B valuation on the NASDAQ with delivered consumer automotive product.
Currently, I am Vice President of Product at Luminar (an automotive lidar company), and Board member of CREOL, the College of Optics & Photonics at UCF and the Florida Photonics Cluster.
